Benefits of Individual Therapy
Increase the individual’s motivation for change.
Teach how to break the addictive cycle and establish abstinence.
Teach the individual coping and problem-solving skills required to maintain sobriety over the long-term.
Teach how to cope with cravings and how to avoid triggers that can lead to relapse, such as people, places, and things.
Involve family members in the addiction recovery plan.
Family members who are involved in the recovery process and who participate in treatment activities can greatly improve the success of treatment for the addicted individual.
Encourage participation in recovery support groups. 12-Step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Cocaine Anonymous are extremely valuable support systems for recovering individuals.
Therapeutic Counseling Sessions
In both individual and group therapy, talking about issues and expressing thoughts, feelings and experiences is a key element of treatment. But addiction counseling isn’t just a time to chat. Our team of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed counselors and therapists uses evidence-based, therapeutic approaches to guide discussion and encourage self-discovery.
Benefits of Group Therapy
Learning that you’re not alone in your struggles. Others have similar issues and problems.
Seeing the growth and learning from others who are at different stages in recovery.
Having the freedom to express feelings and receive caring and objective feedback from others.
Taking responsibility for one’s choices and behavior, and demonstrating respect, compassion and empathy for others.
Having a safe place to take emotional risks by trusting others and showing vulnerability.
Group therapy is an important, though often misunderstood, component of addiction treatment. Group therapy’s restorative effects emanate from the powerful social bonds that form through shared experience. Group therapy is a place to nurture healthy relationships and to demonstrate respect, compassion, and empathy for others. All are necessary for maintaining sobriety and for embarking on a happy, healthy life with fulfilling relationships after treatment.
Individual Therapy
I offer one-to-one therapy for adults in a confidential, supportive setting. This space is for you if you’re:
Feeling anxious, on edge, or constantly overthinking
Experiencing burnout or emotional exhaustion
Struggling with self-criticism or low self-worth
Finding relationships challenging or emotionally draining
Navigating life changes, identity shifts, or motherhood
Feeling disconnected, stuck, or unsure of yourself
Therapy with me is collaborative and gentle. There’s no pressure to talk about anything before you’re ready. Some sessions may feel reflective and quiet, while others may feel clarifying or emotionally releasing.
What a Typical Session Looks Like
Sessions are a calm, confidential space where you’re encouraged to speak openly and honestly.
Each session lasts 45-50 minutes and may involve:
Talking through current thoughts and feelings
Reflecting on patterns or recent experiences
Pausing to notice emotional or bodily responses
Exploring tools to help you feel more grounded
Some weeks you may come with lots to say. Other weeks you may feel quieter or unsure. Both are welcome.
Therapy & Counseling Services
A calm space to talk, reflect, and feel supported.
Therapy offers a place to slow down and make sense of what you’re carrying. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or simply disconnected from yourself, therapy can help you feel more grounded and supported in daily life.
You don’t need to have a clear goal or know exactly what you want to work on. We begin with what feels most present for you.
